Chris Phillips

Chris has been coaching goalkeepers specifically since 1999, he has achieved his FA Level 3, FA Level 3 Goalkeeping, FA Level 1 Goalkeeping Tutor, Bsc Hons Sports Science and Coaching and is also a fully qualified Fitness Instructor. Chris hosts a depth of knowledge from working with goalkeepers from U7's through to 1st team goalkeepers.  He gained this knowledge from working with goalkeepers at all levels within the Mansfield Town set up from 2000 - 2006, working with both male and female goalkeepers.  Through the 2005 to 2007 seasons he worked with Lincoln City Girls Centre of Excellence  specialising with 8 - 16 year old females. Chris has worked at Derby County since 2003 with Under 8 goalkeepers to 1^st team goalkeepers.

While working with goalkeepers of all levels Chris has had the privilege of developing goalkeepers who have progressed on it to the international set up with both males and females.

During Chris’s successful time at Derby County Football Club goalkeepers at 3 age groups progressed from playing at the top flight of Academy football in to the international set up including Steven Cann who has represented Wales at all age groups, Ross Atkins who through extreme hard work got in to the England Under 18  Squad.  After a frustrating season in 2006/2007 James Seven was on the bench at Under 18’s even though he was an Under 15 player.  In the 2007 / 2008 Season James patience paid off being selected for the England Under 17 squad.

 While at Lincoln City Girls Centre of Excellence Sophie Harris after 2 years of training and dedication at the age of 13 was representing club at Under 16 level and England at Under 15 level.

Chris has worked with Gary Walsh (Derby County),  Seamus Mcdonough (Aston Villa), Pete Williams, Kevin Poole (Burton Albion), Paul Reynolds (Leicester City & England CPD Squad Goalkeeper Coach)

 Chris’s business partner and Co founder of Chris Phillips Goalkeeper Coaching and also the elder statesman of the team (only just!!). Played in goal since the age of 10, that’ll be 32 years then at various amateur levels and University British League level. He is FA level 1 qualified and an FA Level 1 GK coach and like Chris he is passionate about the Goalkeepers position within football.

Goalkeeping over the years has changed drastically to be the specialist position it is today, you need to be stronger, quicker and more technically gifted than ever before to succeed at the highest level. That is why Dave has worked with Chris to bring to all aspiring goalkeepers, the best coaches and coaching methods possible to give all keepers of all ages and abilities, male and female the best possible chance of success in the future.
